Great news: If you are a human being then YOU'RE ALREADY HILARIOUS. You just don't know it yet! Lauren McGibbon (Trial and Error, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Scaredy Cats) brings her 20 year live comedy performance and on set sitcom experience to this 14-week course that is designed to teach students 12 - 17: - Classic SitCom Structure and Joke Format - How to Break Down the Script and Find the Funny - The difference between Classic 3 Cam and Modern Single Cam Comedy - Commitment to the Present moment, listening skills, and physical comedy. - Rhythm and Pace for Ensemble Acting and how to “KEEP IT GROUNDED! THE TONE IS VERY REAL!” Each week we dig deep into scenes from classics to modern, two-handers to 6 person ensemble pieces and laugh our way to confidence when it comes to acting funny. It all ends with a 3 Cam Shoot with a live studio audience (of parents, trusted friends, and maybe a few industry experts!) So our students walk away with camera experience and the footage to prove it.
