Tricities Film Studio is a highly respected, female owned and run studio, founded by Lisa Durupt. We offer in-person classes only, taught by experienced working actors, looking to help artists find their way in the entertainment industry.
Lisa Durupt
Founder
Lisa Durupt is an established Film & Television Actor actively working in the Film Industry and has been a Tri-Cities resident since 2010. Lisa has a degree in Theatre & Drama from the University of Winnipeg and a diploma in Musical Theatre from the Canadian College of Performing Arts.
In 2006, Canadian comedy legend, Mark McKinney (‘Superstore’ & ‘Kids In the Hall’) cast her in the hit dark comedy series ‘Less Than Kind’, earning Lisa a Gemini nomination, as well as multiple Leo nominations, for her role as ‘Shandra’, the lovable villain. Since then she has gone on to work alongside some of Hollywood’s best: James Caan (The Godfather), Chrissy Metz (This Is Us), Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada) Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) Danny Trejo (Machete Man), Topher Grace (That 70’s Show), Molly Ringwald (Riverdale & Pretty in Pink) and many, many more. She has over 70 Film and Television credits for major studios and networks such as NETFLIX, HULU, SHUDDER, FOX SEARCHLIGHT, UNIVERSAL, NICKELODEON, SONY, MIRAMAX, HALLMARK, LIFETIME, The CW, ABC, and more.
Be sure to check her out in the upcoming season of ‘Creepshow’ on Shutter, in Netflix’s ‘Love, Guaranteed’, as well as Hulu’s newest show ‘Goosebumps’! She currently stars alongside Alison Sweeney as Andrea Todd in Hallmark Channel’s ‘The Hannah Swensen Mysteries’.

Lauren McGibbon
Coach
Lauren McGibbon is an actor, improviser, and instructor based in Vancouver. She was a member of the MainStage Ensemble at Vancouver TheatreSports Improv Centre for twelve years starting in 2009. During her time at the company, she performed weekly at the Improv Centre Theatre’s home venue on Granville Island doing five improv comedy shows a week. Through the company, she also traveled the globe performing at Festivals including Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto, and London, UK. Theatresports also partnered with Princess Cruise Lines to provide entertainment to guests on trips from Alaska to the Caribbean. Lauren was also an Instructor at the company’s school Improv Comedy Institute for Five Years. As a writer she created several showcase formats including “O! Canada!” which was one of the company’s most successful summer shows.
Through stand-up comedy, Lauren has appeared at Just For Laughs Northwest and the Yuk Yuk’s funniest comic competition. As an actor, her film and television credits include NBC’s Trial & Error, Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and most recently she starred in the Netflix family series Scaredy Cats as the villainous witch Wilma Winkle.
Lane Edwards
Coach
Lane spent the first part of his adult life working as a Youth Worker with inner-city youth both in Calgary and Vancouver. After a move to New York City, however, he was bitten by the acting bug and found his way back to Vancouver where he began training with Bruce Clayton, Andrew McllRoy, and More.
Getting a relatively late start in his acting career made for an uphill battle. Lane’s focus and determination helped land him roles in recognizable projects such as Arrow, The Killing, Falling Skies, Supernatural, and Motive early on to name a few. He can also be seen opposite Sam Worthington in an adaptation of William P. Young’s novel The Shack is very proud to have been directed by Robert Redford in The Company We Keep.
He can currently be seen as Sheriff Duncan in Virgin River and as Paul Sowerberry in the hit show Riverdale. His favourite and most challenging role to date was the role of Eric in the independent feature Everything and Everyone which screened at various film festivals around North America.
Lou Ticzon ​

​Lou Ticzon is a Vancouver Film School alumnus and a versatile artist with accomplishments in film, television, and theatre. Lou’s screen credits include Firebug (2025) with Taron Egerton, Two Sentence Horror Stories, and Arrow. A Jessie Award nominee for his role in Kuroko, written by Tetsuro Shigematsu and directed by Amiel Gladstone, Lou brings a rich understanding of performance and production. With over a decade of teaching experience at Vancouver Film School and Arts Umbrella, Lou is dedicated to nurturing students’ creative and technical skills in storytelling.
Jennifer Rose Garcia
Youth Development Coordinator & Coach
Jennifer Rose Garcia is an actress and singer known for her commitment, energy, and unapologetic enthusiasm for the arts. Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education and went on to teach drama to kids of all ages in the lower mainland.
She recently left the public school system to teach young actors onset and is currently teaching on DISNEY’s PETER & WENDY. As an actor, you can catch her in the release of two new series: RESIDENT ALIEN on SYFY and FAMILY LAW on GLOBAL.
Jenessa Galbraith
Coach
Jenessa is a graduate of Trinity Western University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre program. She is an actor, singer and writer who has recently taken on the role of Casting director for Cassiar Film Co. and is branching out into producing in the world of independent film.

Besides various commercials you may have seen her in, select theatre credits include Trish Baker (Bistro 86), Brigid in the Humans (WRPC), Clarissa in Spiders Web (RCTC), Claire Ganz in Rumors (Beachhouse Theatre), Woman in the Chair in Drowsy Chaperone and Viola in Twelfth Night (SAMC).

Ashley Alexander
Coach
Originally from Alberta, Ashley received a diploma in Theatre, as well as a Degree in Film Acting from Red Deer College. Shortly after, she made the move to the beautiful city of Vancouver and never looked back. ‘Animal Control’, ‘Blockbuster’, ‘A Royal Christmas Match’ and Lifetime’s ‘A Deadly Surrogacy’ are just a few of the projects you can find her in.
Ashley is also a producer, writer and creator of her own projects, such as ‘Becoming Sophie’ and ‘The Worst Day Ever?'.
On her downtime, Ashley can be found either in the forest hiking with her two rescue dogs Jerry and Pete, on the ocean on her SUP board, or in the kitchen experimenting with gluten free/vegan recipes!
