In-Depth Scene Work - Daytime Edition

Wednesdays from 11:00am - 2:00pm September 10th - December 10th, 2025 *NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND* IN-DEPTH SCENE WORK FOR WORKING ACTORS - DAYTIME EDITION 
with Lisa Durupt 

 Must complete Intro to Acting or have permission from instructor. This class is for adults (with some experience) who want to focus on in-depth scene work. This class will allow actors to go deeper into their work while giving them a practical game plan to create completely truthful, honest work, in a short time frame. As a hybrid of both Scene Study and On-Camera Audition classes, students will work on a scene with a partner for 2 weeks, at a time. *Weekly attendance & punctuality are expected.*

Sketch Writing and Performing

Mondays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm September 8th - October 27th *7 weeks* *NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND* SKETCH WRITING AND PERFORMING With Lauren McGibbon Writing? Excuse me, I'm an actor; why would I take a writing class? More like, WHY WOULDN'T YOU?! A large part of an actor's life involves breaking down scenes, and it's much easier when you get a peek behind the curtain to see how they were originally written. Sketch comedy has been the starting point for many of your favourite actors. As the boundaries between comedy and drama continue to blur, learning the who, what, where, why, and how of scene structure is a huge asset. Not enough? How's your social media going? The IG and TikTok are GETTING PEOPLE WORK! Learn the skills you need to write and produce your own content, and see how it can boost your bookability! This 7-week class is guaranteed to get you laughing and enrich your character work.

Long Form Improv for Actors

Mondays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm November 3rd - December 15th *7 weeks* *NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND* LONG FORM IMPROV FOR ACTORS With Lauren McGibbon Improv has a set of rules and codes that’s designed for one purpose: making a scene move forward by making grounded character choices. Improv is a skill sought after by casting and production because those actors with improv experience are ideal artists for the collaborative and fast-paced world of commercials, Film and TV. Lauren McGibbon brings two decades of performance and teaching on an international scale (Chicago Improv Festival, Mainstage at Vancouver Theatresports League, Featured Guest entertainer for Princess Cruise lines) and Film/TV set experience to this classroom to show actors how to approach their work with interest, curiosity, collaboration and joy. Stop fearing the unknown and start jumping in confidently in this team-based and supportive class where laughs are guaranteed.

KICK A&% AUDITION WORK OUT

Wednesdays from 7:00pm - 10:00pm September 10th - December 10th KICK A&% AUDITION WORK OUT 
with Lane Edwards Must complete Intro to Acting or have permission from instructor. This weekly workout is designed for working actors to sharpen their audition skills. Under the guidance of prolific actor Lane Edwards, students receive new sides to prepare every Tuesday, and they will be filmed two days later in their Thursday night class. Get honest feedback from one of the most respected actors in the Vancouver market and swiftly build your skills, knowledge, and marketability!

In-Depth Scene Work for Working Actors

Sundays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm September 7th - December 14th, 2025 *NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND* IN-DEPTH SCENE WORK FOR WORKING ACTORS

with Lisa Durupt It’s time to get started. This year is the year you’re going to pursue your dream of being an actor. The first step is always the hardest, but Lisa Durupt is here to remove the fear and mystery by sharing her knowledge and skills with our newcomers and long-absent returning teammates. Lisa’s approach in our Wednesday beginners class is supportive and HIGHLY informative; not only covering the foundations of solid acting craft but the required business skills actors need to be a professional in the fast moving film and television industry. Lisa’s experience is vast in her 22-year career (in everything from stunts to professional Theatre, Musical Theatre, a Comedy Series, Horror, Hallmark and so much more....) offering students smart, reliable information and an undeniable feeling of support as they start their journey. Perez Beginner Level – No experience required Curious about voice acting but don’t know where to start? This beginner friendly course is your chance to explore the exciting world of voice over — from animation and commercials to narration, dubbing, and video games. Taught by working voice actor Edwin Perez, this hands-on class will help you discover your vocal range, break down scripts with confidence, and build the skills to bring characters and stories to life. You’ll learn: - How to create distinct character voices and deliver clear, professional reads - Script analysis techniques and vocal performance tips - Basics of home recording and mic technique - Industry insights on demos, agents, and auditions Each week focuses on a different genre, with practical exercises, group feedback, and lots of mic time. Whether you're aiming for a new career path or just want to try something fun and creative you'll learn what it takes to work like a pro in this rewarding industry. Voice for Animation

Saturdays from 2:00pm - 4:00pm September 20th - December 13th, 2025 *12 weeks* *NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND* VOICE FOR ANIMATION

Perez Ideal for students with some voiceover experience or who have completed the Intro Voice Over course This 14-week class is designed for students ready to take their voice acting to the next level. Taught by working voice actor Edwin Perez, this course focuses entirely on animation — helping you develop original characters, strengthen performance range, and hone your storytelling skills behind the mic. Each lesson builds on the last, with a focus on: Creating specific, dynamic character voices Connecting physicality to vocal performance Deepening script analysis, emotional beats, and timing Strengthening confidence and consistency in your reads Expect hands-on exercises, collaborative reads, and actionable feedback each week. Whether you're working toward a demo or just want to expand your range, this class will give you the tools to bring animated worlds to life.

The Play's The Thing: Long Form Scene Study - DAYTIME EDITION

Thursdays from 11:00am - 2:00pm September 11th - December 11th, 2025 THE PLAY'S THE THING: LONG FORM SCENE STUDY 
with Lauren McGibbon Every actor dreams of being number 1 on the call sheet: Walter White in Breaking Bad or Viola Davis in How to Get Away with Murder. Few have thought through what that entails: a whole lot of work, top-level professionalism and stamina. This class is here to push our teammates to take ownership and responsibility in building their character from the ground up. Hence, they are skilled, collaborative, and ready to bring a director's vision to life. Working with scenes from renowned and sophisticated playwrights, Lauren McGibbon brings her experience from stage and screen to teach the rehearsal process, vocal and movement craft, script analysis, and live performance technique so you, the actor, leave the class knowing exactly how to bring whichever character comes across your audition notice inbox to life. The class culminates in a live performance!
